Extra Curricular


Interscholastic competition is an important part of students' school lives. Therefore, beginning in grade 7 students may participate in a variety of athletic endeavors.

Fine Arts

Students begin vocal music and visual art classes in kindergarten. Special classes for orchestra begin in grade 4 and for band in grade 5. Elementary and middle school buildings offer a variety of performing opportunities.

At the high school level there are several opportunities for students to demonstrate their musical talents through a variety of extra curricular activities, including:

  • Jazz Band
  • "The Boingers" show choir band
  • "Voices In Perfection" freshman show choir (VIP)
  • "Findlay First Edition" upperclass show choir (FFE)
  • Chamber Orchestra
  • Musical Orchestra
  • Findlay Indoor Drumline (FIDL)
  • "Pantasia" steel drum band

Participation in one of the following curricular offerings is required for membership in an extra-curricular: marching band, pep band, freshman band (includes marching and pep bands), concert band (includes marching and pep bands), wind ensemble (includes marching and pep bands), freshman choir, concert choir, symphonic choir, symphony orchestra


Many special interest academic activities are developed each year in response to the interests of students. Others are ongoing, such as newspapers, yearbooks, student councils, forensics and debate, academic quiz bowl and environmental clubs.
